Jordan Lake Rules
The Jordan Lake rules being proposed by the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources as a way to control water pollution in Jordan Lake located in Chatham and Durham counties. The rules being proposed will adversely affect how development can occur in the New Hope and Haw River watersheds. In their current form, these rules will be the strictest rules to date in North Carolina with the inclusion of measures that will require retrofitting of current development. All or a portion of four counties and sixteen cities will be impacted by the regulations in the Piedmont Triad region. Even those cities and counties that fall under Phase II stormwater regulations will have additional requirements. The Greensboro Partnership is following these proposed rules because of their negative impact on economic development in Greensboro and Guilford County. Visit the Piedmont Triad Council of Governments website for more information.
